Vacation used but not paid?

Hourly employee used earned vacation time, but was subsequently not paid for that time. Is there a procedure to follow, or is the employer allowed to make up the deficiency during the next pay period?

I believe the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court has interpreted a MA law know as the Wage Act to require employers to treat earned vacation time as they are required to treat regular wages.  In other words, you should have been paid on the same date you were entitled to receive your wages, as though you had worked and not taken vacation.  For more information, you may want to try calling the Attorney General's  Fair Labor Hotline at 617-727-3465.
