Time limit for landlord charges?

I moved out of an apartment in August. I received the "statement of deposit account" detailing my final balance. This amount was payed. Now over a month later my landlord is saying they made an error on the original statement and sent me another bill. He is adamant that I am liable even though it was his mistake. I know a statement of deposit account has to be sent within 30 days of the end of tenancy, but can they bill me with a revised version way afterwords? Seems kinda crazy. Is this legal?

I returned keys on August 12th, they sent me a statement on August 17th. This amount was paid in full and now they sent me another bill on October 2nd claiming an error.

Thank you in advance.
