Small Claims - Discovery and Interogatory

Hello there,

I am the plaintiff in a small claims docket #. The defendant has filed a counterclaim and hired an attorney who is her childhood friend.

The attorney has initiated Discovery and per Rule 34 of MA Civil Procedures, she is asking for production of certain documents. The defendant attorney has also initiated Rules 33 of MA Civil Procedures and is asking for 22 questions answered per interrogation.

As per my understanding, per rule # 5 of the Small Claims discovery is not allowed in small claims. Rules #34 and #33 do not apply to Small Claims court. Can I reply NO to the attorney stating these rules are outside the boundary of small claims?

Thanks,
