I Received a 14-day Notice To Quit and paid the rent immediately. What now?

I was really busy this week and I failed to pay the rent on time. I received a notice to quit (14 days) today and I immediately paid the rent through the online portal. However the notice mentioned that the money paid after receiving the notice will be "for use and occupancy only". Does this mean that the apartment management already decided not to renew a new lease with me anymore? How likely is it that they will still proceed with the eviction process? (I already signed a renewed lease starting next month) Thank you!
