Condominium Trustees Appointing Other Trustees

When can a condominium board trustees appoint other trustees? The condo documents say the trustees can appoint when a "vacancy" continues for more than 30 days. But is that only when the trustee's term ends early due to resignation, death, etc.? Or can the trustees' appointment power be used in place of normal condo meeting elections? Thanks a lot.

Trustees should only be appointed in conformity with the condominium documents. Your best bet is to take your condo docs to an attorney to review them and give you guidance. I don't see any reason why you couldn't accomplish what you are trying to do with a resignation and acceptance of appointment. It is impossible to say without reviewing the association's governing documents. Feel free to reach out to our office. Best, Christopher Vaughn-Martel (617) 357-4898
