What does child support pay for under Massachusetts law?

I've been divorced for five years now and have very little contact with my former wife or our child. I'm sorry about that but I have a new life now. I've never missed a single child support payment but I'm constantly being asked by my ex to send money to pay for half of some expense she claims is required for the child like medical bills, braces, and other things. I was under the understanding that my child support was supposed to be used for that kind of thing and that I wouldn't have to pay for anything else. That's why I agreed to pay the amount of child support I agreed to.

can dcf open a case on us because of my mother in law's past history, even though she doesn't live with us?

My daughter is a month old now, i was on a program (that i have been on for over a year now) for my past drug abuse. i have been clean and sober for over a year. but since i am on this program, as a formality, DCF is called by the hospital's social worker. they were supposed to come to my house, see that i have everything that the baby needs and then some, and that she's well cared for. well i got a call this morning from the worker saying that they were opening a case because my husband's mother has a long history with DCF.

Divorce non Massachusetts resident after two weeks?

Hello. I married a man from the Dominican Republic two weeks ago and immediately regretted my decision. He lived in Massachusetts for a several months before the wedding and then moved back to the DR a week after to make arrangements for us to live there with his family. I have always lived in Massachusetts and we were married in MA. So my question is whether I can get a divorce in MA even though he is not a citizen and is currently living in another country? Do I have to wait a year before I can get divorced? Thank you very much for your help.

DOR filed for an increase in child support

I was never married to the woman and we had a child out of wedlock. Took the test and the child is mine. We went to court and I have paid child support on time everytime. 15 Years later I get a court papers from DOR asking to increase child support. I answered the court papers right away. 11/10/2011. Still no court date in the mail. How long do I have to wait for a court date?? Do I have to schedule the court date? If so, how do I schedule one? I want this over ASAP.

Thank You

Received Complaint for Annulment from my husband, based on fraud.

I recently received a petition from Springfield District Court for annulment. My husband is claiming I have committed fraud against him to gain entry to the USA. I am a natural born Canadian Citizen, and was only in the USA because of our relationship, his statement is completely false. Shortly after our marriage, he became extremely abusive, both verbally and physically towards me. I have police reports as well as a restraining order against him, wich includes no contact. I am all for annulment or divorce, I want nothing to do with him, however I refuse to agree to committing fraud.

Drug testing in a Massachusetts divorce

My wife and I are both unemployed about to run out of money, want to divorce, and moving in with our respective parents by the end of the month. The only asset we have to split is a rental house about to be put into foreclosure. We also have one four year old boy. Whom I've been taking care of because she has become addicted to cyrstal meth and staying out every night, all night. questions: how can i get custody of our son? what can you suggest i do? I can't remain married to this woman any more. how can i prove she'S abusing drugs?

Is it too late to go back to court for past child support?

My ex husband hasn't increased child support payments since 2000. I haven't taken him back to court since then, but would like to now. Is it too late to get the back difference in child support that he should have been paying? He started out making about 42000.00 in 2000 and was up over $100,000.00 at some point.

There are several reasons why I have decided to try and do this. One child is actually 24 now and the other is 21. The 21 year old will graduate college in May 2012.

Is this something that could be possible or I should forget about it?

Thank you.

child support termination

I have some questions on if, when and how to end child support and what is considered emancipation.

Background, I have custody of my two youngest boys (age 14 & 11). Ex has custody of oldest (18 in one more month). I pay ex $379/wk in child support and $150 in alimony. She pays me nothing as she is and has been jobless and I make good money (a lot of it goes to her).

Uncontested divorce hearing in Massachusetts

My husband and I have no kids and should have a pretty simple divorce. We already have our uncontested divorce hearing date coming up in less than a month. My question is whether we have to do anything else besides that hearing? It seems a little too easy if that makes any sense? My girlfriend who was divorced last year says that not much happens at the hearing and that it was over before she knew it. I just want to be prepared. Thanks.
