I am a small business employer (3 employees and myself). I have an employee who has been out over a week with a "back" injury. I asked her for a doctor's note that she has not produced and she will not return my phone calls. She calls when she knows I will not be in and speaks with a co-worker. To date, I have not been notified of any workers' compensation claims and I honestly do not believe this injury occured at work. It is hurting my business to be down by 1 employee. What are my options for replacing this person?
