Will my name be in the newspaper if I file bankruptcy?

I've seen legal notices for auctions and other stuff where a person's name, sometimes a neighbor or other person I knew, gets published in the paper. Now my wife and I are talking about bankruptcy and she is freaking out because she's worried that our names will be in the local paper and all our friends and family will read it. Does that ever happen with a Massachusetts bankruptcy? Will my name be in the paper if I file? Thanks.

Publication of names in bankruptcy case

It is highly unlikely that any information about your bankruptcy will appear in the newspaper.  Bankruptcy is a matter of public record, so it is possible that someone could access bankruptcy court records and view documents related to your filing, but who would do that, unless you are a celebrity?  It's a good question, and I understand your desire to keep your business private.  When you are ready to move forward, talk to your bankruptcy lawyer about this issue.  She may be able to put your mind at ease.  Good luck.
