So, in your other answer, you said the Social Security Administration sometimes reviews cases after 6 to 18 months. What happens at that point? What do they do?. Is it like applying all over again?

Editor's Response
No, it is not like applying for benefits all over again. Essentially, the Social Security Administration will ask you to provide information about your condition, including the types of medical treatment you are receiving. This information is reviewed by a disability examiner and a doctor. In some cases, the SSA may ask you be examined by a doctor.
However, unless your condition has improved substantially, it is unlikely you will lose your benefits. In the unlikely event the SSA decides to cease paying benefits, then your benefits will stop three months after that determination is made. Remember, though, if the SSA terminates your benefits, you can appeal that decision. Also, if you are worried about the review, talk to an attorney before it begins. Certainly if the SSA terminates your benefits and you believe you are still entitled to them, you should contact an attorney ASAP. Good luck.
