I'm MA resident and I have consulted a tax preparer who works online with a website. His office is in Maryland. I thought some of your advise will be helpful though it is out of state. I sent him all tax docs/ forms through email. His website never said anything about consultation fee and I did not sign any document or said Agree to any consent online on his website to pay the consult fee. When I realized he has police/IRS cases for fraud tax filing, I told him I'm not going with him. But, he started demanding $100 for consultation. Further, he says if I don't pay him, he'd report to credit bureaus coz he has my SSN.
What can I do ? I'm confident I was not told about the consultation fee. I have not signed anything or agreed to any stuff about payment online too.
