Tree limb on neighbor's roof

I have a very large Norwegian Spruce (probably 3 stories high) just this side of my property line. One of the branches is resting on my neighbor's roof. He hasn't said anything about it, but my neighbor across the street (a tree surgeon) wants to remove the limb (at my expense, of course). I've had the tree checked out by an arborist 3 times over the past ten years to be sure that the tree is healthy, and it is. My question is - am I even allowed to remove the branch that hangs over my neighbor's property? I know that my neighbor can, since it's on his property, but not sure that legally I can do that, particularly since it is literally resting on his house. I've already previously replaced an entire fence that was falling onto my property, even though the original fence belonged to this neighbor (he doesn't take particularly good care of his property).

Remove overhanging limbs

Yes, as you know, your neighbor, if it bothered him, could remove the limb that hangs over his property line.  You can remove it too, especially if you are able to do it without intruding onto the neighbor's property.  Why don't you just talk to him about it?  I can think of no reason why he would object to your removal of the limb.  Good luck.
