Social Security disability eligibility
I always caution people in your situation to talk to a qualified estate planning attorney before making a transfer of any real property, preferably an attorney that also has tax law experience. Without knowing your specific situation, this is guesswork, but if you are receiving SSI, as opposed to SSDI, there could be some issues. Also, you need to consider MassHealth and how the property transfer may be viewed in light of the five year look back period. Talk to a lawyer. Good luck.
