Hi
I received a traffic ticket(Civil Infractions) in Cambridge,MA with the charges of violating "No turn on Red". I took a right turn. I was $35. I checked with my insurance company and was told that I would get 2 points for this. After the incident I took pictures of the intersection and feel that the signs were very confusing.
I am looking to contest the ticket and am considering taking legal help. Can you please tell me what would be fee lawyers charge for this? I have clean driving history as of now. If I content and lose, would court charges or fines be levied on me? Request your suggestions on how to take this up.
Thanks,
Krish
Sorry, didnt make this clear in my post.
Though the points are waived, i was told that this still exists in my driving history and my insurance premiums would go up. I m now getting discounts due to clean history for 6 yrs. now because of this ticket i cant get that discount for 6 yrs from now. Also, next time if there is a violation/charge, its no more the first violation and I would have to lose out on all the benefits on first violation.
Needless to say, if this ticket goes off, I would have enormous benefits.
Thanks,
Krish.

It is highly unlikely that the amount in question would justify hiring an attorney. Rates vary, of course, but any type of litigation is expensive. For more information or to post a question, visit our MA Driving Law Discussion Forum.
It affects my insurance.

I understand, but I still think the attorneys fees would equal or exceed the amount you stand to lose. However, that is just my guess. Talk to a few attorneys that do criminal or traffic related litigation and see what they say. I could be wrong.
