I worked as a clinician at a mental health clinic between 12/09 and 5/10. I had to modify my schedule due to my daughter's psychiatric emergency. The agency would not let me take any time/or flexibility w/r/t FMLA bk. I hadn't been there a year. I feel this was a form of discrimination due to her severe disability Thoughts?

Allowed time off from work

I hope your daughter is doing better.  Unfortunately, Massachusetts law only allows employees to take time off from work in certain specified situations.  In other circumstances, employers are free to require employees to show up for work as required by management.  Good luck.
