Pretty sure I know the answer to this but can you tell me if it's legal to buy or own a taser or stun gun in Massachusetts? What law controls this issue and are the penalties pretty severe?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure you know the answer, too. It is illegal to own or to sell a Taser or any other type of stun gun in Massachusetts. For your reference, see Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 140, Section 131J. Violators of this section may punished by "a fine of not less than $500 nor more than $1,000 or by imprisonment in the house of correction for not less than 6 months nor more than 21/2 years, or by both such fine and imprisonment."
