Just curious if you have any thoughts or have read any information regarding the success rate of divorce mediation. I've seen some numbers suggesting that mediation is "successful" 90% of the time, meaning the couple agrees on all the main points and seeks court approval. Does that sound realistic? The articles I read were not specific to Massachusetts.

Mediation success
Yes, I've also seen the 90% estimate on various websites, with some mediators claiming 100% success. I don't know. All divorce meditations are different. Depending on the issues you and your spouse disagree on, the complexity of your financial situation, whether you have children, etc., you can certainly see that your mediation may be more or less likely to succeed. Also, I would not be surprised if success rates varied from one mediator to another. Nevertheless, I do believe that, with an experienced mediator, the process is likely to succeed and certainly less likely to end as unpleasantly as a litigated divorce. Good luck to you.
