My spouse is in the process of adopting my child from a previous marraige, my ex has signed the voluntary termination form, and we have signed a PILE of paperwork. My question is about the CP-2 form. I filled one out too,even though I am the natural parent.
A) Is this normal?
B)What will this show? I had some traffic issues in my past (out of state)and it came to my attention that my ex's new partner had used my identity for a little while so I cringe to think what else may be on my record. I know there are some credit issues from purchases that they made using my name and social, and I am HOPING that is the only problem.
c)my spouse has a bankrupcy on record, will this affect the stepparant adoption?
What usually happens in these cases? I have had custody of the child for the last 7 years, almost all of the child's life. My ex happily signed the surrender form, citing that money was a problem, and my ex had in fact not been an active participant in the child's life anyhow.
