My roommate, who served as the only contact with the landlord, decided to move out and obtained the landlords permission to sublet. However there are 3 of us still remaining in the apartment who's names remain on the lease, and the landlord is now asking us for our social security numbers. My question is as follows: Even though we are 4 months into a 16 month lease are we required to provide our SSNS to the landlord? If we do so and the landlord discovers unsatisfactory credit reports can she evict us?

If you have a lease with the landlord, you are bound by the terms of that contract. As long as you abide by those terms, the landlord cannot evict you. However, before renewing the lease, the landlord may require your social security numbers to do a credit check. At that point, you can refuse, and the landlord can refuse to renew the lease.
