I was married back in 2001, at the time my father inlaw had invested some money to a business i started, along with that he helped with securing credit cards, because my credit was poor. By 2003 the business failed and i had to file chapter 7 bankruptcy, the credit cards that were in his name were never included, i agreed to pay them off over time with his help. By 2004 his daughter and i divorced. I continued contact with him, because he started to threaten me after the divorce that if he didnt get the money back he invested he would harm me and file charges that i illegally obtained his ss# to obtain credit cards. I told him that he didnt need to act the way he was and i had no money and the bankruptcy was discharged, i continued to pay off the credit cards up until a few months ago when they all got paid off. He was aware of the credit accounts and worked with me to get them paid off. now that they are paid off he started harrassing me again about the other money from the bankruptcy, i am now in fear because i told him i was laid off from work and have no money and 2 kids to raise, he made threats against me and my kids. He does not care about the bankruptsy protection and i feel is willing to do anything to get the money back, do i have any legal remedies against him?
