I am the sole beneficiary in my husbands will. We were married in the hospital 4 days before he died. He was mentally sound, his family attended our marriage. His will was made out before his death. He owned a home that I never lived in, the home is now in foreclosure. His family is objecting to me being the administrator of his will, which is prolonging the probate process. I have handled everything up until this point without a lawyer with no problems. His family responded after public notification was made in the local newspaper. My question is, am I the owner of this home now, can I sell it, or do I have to wait until I am named administrator, I have a buyer for the home. If I have to wait how do I save the home from foreclosure. There are no children involved, and my husbands father is deceased. His mother was given proper notification as a heir. I cannot afford a lawyer and have been diligent about dotting my I's and crossing my T's . Any advice. I do not want to lose this home in foreclosure before I can sell it. Thank you so much.
