My Son is currently in prison and will get out in several months hopefully. He lost his SSDI when he went in and wants to know how he can get it back when he gets out. Can he do that or does he need to reapply?

No, he does not need to re-apply. Even though your son went to prison, his name will remain in the SSDI system during his time in prison. He will need to make a request to the Social Security Administration to reinstate his benefits. He will also need to provide copies of his release documents.
