Should I/Can I file bankruptcy ?

Hello,

I have lost my job a while ago, and I have not been able to find work for a while. I'm about to be flat broke before the end of the month, and will have no place to live next month either. I have about 4000 Dollars in debt on my credit card, everything else is paid. Should I file bankruptcy, considering I won't be able to pay my credit card anymore ? Can I file bankruptcy, considering I have absolutely no cash ? Also, I have no more health insurance, but require medical treatment for chronic conditions. I'm at a loss what to do. I'm not entitled to social security or anything like that. Since my wallet was stolen last month I have also no IDs, but I already had no cash to replace them, which complicated things, so I have had trouble because I have had no way to ID myself......

Bankruptcy

Sorry about your situation.  I'm sure you could file bankruptcy, and there are low or no cost legal assistance programs that you can look into.  However, it seems like you need to put out a few fires before you get to that point.  There is a group called MassResources.Org that helps individuals and families that find themselves in need of immediate aid.  Start with the big problems (food, shelter, and your health) then talk to an attorney or a debt counselor about your debt issues.  Good luck.
