My wife and I recently conducted a home mold test in our son's room after he has maintained a chronic cough and we noticed an unidentifiable odor in his room. Mold appeared in the test approximately 24 hours later, and the test has been sent out for lab analysis.
What rights exist for tenants in this situation? Picking up and moving out is unfortunately not a realistic option at this time.

Wait until you have the lab results then talk to the landlord. If your tests establish that there are dangerous levels of mold (all houses have some mold) and the landlord refuses to take action, follow the usual steps for having an apartment inspected by inspectional services.
