Does everyone named in the trust have to be informed when a trust is created?
Is my house protected immediately?
Is an IRA with my children as beneficiaries protected? Thank you for your help.

Revocable trusts in MA

First, you do not need to notify those you name in your trust as beneficiaries.  However, I'm not sure what you mean when you ask if your house (or other assets) will be protected by the trust.  Generally speaking, revocable trusts are used for estate planning purposes: to avoid probate and/or reduce or minimize estate taxes.  They're not used for asset protection.  You can follow this link for more information about revocable and irrevocable trusts in Massachusetts

If you have concerns about estate planning or asset protection and believe you need to establish one or more trusts, I encourage you to talk to a MA estate planning attorney
