I am a new real estate broker in Massachusetts and I'd like to go into business for myself. Do I need to rent office space or can I start from my home? If I can start from my home, would it have to be commercially zoned? I know as the company grows and I hire agents I will eventually want to rent space. I'm just curious as to how I could get started.

I have no idea. For the first part of your question--whether there are any law or rules of conduct that would require a real estate broker to have an office outside of his or her home--I would try the Board of Registration of Real Estate Brokers & Salesperson or the Division of Professional Licensure at (617) 727-3074. The second part of your question--zoning and town by-laws--will require a call to your town clerk. Good luck with your new business.
