Hi my name is Kate. I applied for SSDI in July 2010. We have a mortgage and have gone thru all our savings etc. My medical examiner in Boston told me a decision was made in April but it was selected for Quality Assurance Review. Two weeks ago she told me QA was finished and she is no longer in charge of my claim and local social security office is. She said I would receive a letter in approx. two weeks. I spoke to local office and they said QA has been taking approx. 6-9 months to send the local office permission to send letter. Because of this mess we are now in forclosure. Why do I have to wait so long and be homeless. Attorneys say once it is at this stage they can't do anything but wait. I have tried attorney general and state senators for help but they can't. Does anyone else have or had this problem? Thanks, Kate.

Quality branch review
Sorry about your situation, but I think your attorney is right about the Quality Branch Review process. It is very irritating, but you just have to wait it out.
QA
Thanks for the reassurance. Kate
