filed chapter 7 and I was able to discharge a credit card that was in my name and my ex-wife name. in 2005 she took me to probate court for not paying the card even though it was discharged, but the probate court said I had to indemnify her of harm and remove her name. so my thoughts were to contact the lender with all the information I had to remove her name and get this taken care of. What I didn’t know is that indemnify meant I was reaffirming the debt? So she took me to court again in 2009 and I was in contempt for not paying the card because the judge said I re affirmed the debt by saying I would indemnify her? and now I am being chased by her lawyer and the debt collector to pay for something that was discharge. Is this allowed in probate court? to re affirm a debt that was done threw bankrucptcy? or can this be something i bring back to the bankruptcy courts and find out if probate can tell me i have to pay for this debt.
