I work for a mason and we are doing some work in Boston for the city. I think I'm supposed to be getting the Massachusetts prevailing wage but I have no idea what that is. How can I find out for sure without asking my boss?

As long as you are not in a supervisory role and you are working on a public works project, you are entitled to the prevailing wage, as established my Massachusetts law. The prevailing wage may vary from project to project, but MA law requires a wage schedule to be posted in a "conspicuous place" on all public construction sites.  If you cannot find such a posting, you can contact the the awarding agency or authority for the project and ask for the wage schedule.  Or, you can contact the  Fair Labor and Business Practices Division at:
