MA Bankruptcy Law Questions and Answers

What amount of a personal injury lawsuit settlement is exempt from bankruptcy in MA or by federal law? I have permanent injuries and the settlement may be large. I have $60,000 of personal & business debt due to loss of business and ability to work (currently on disability). Injury case to be tried in 6 months. Not sure if I should file for bankruptcy now or wait to see the outcome of the personal injury suit.
