Can a company doing business in Massachusetts verbally agree to a payment plan for services for several months, complete a payment plan document, and then rescind the document and the agreement?
In my case financial decisions were made based on conversations dating back to February. I was told I needed the authorization of another management person who would not be available until the beginning of May. This 2nd management person then also agreed to the payment plan and drafted a document and submitted it to me for my signature. In just over 24 hours the agreement was recinded and payment in full was demanded instead. At this point it is too late to change the financial decisions that were made based on management's assurances months earlier and we have a substantial amount of assets now in limbo ($25k+). Is this legal? Do I have any options?
Thank you for any input anyone can provide.
