Parking meters and employees paying work related expenses

I am an electrician in the metro Boston region. I work out of my own vehicle and am required by my employer to pay for parking @ parking meters. Is this my employers obligation, given that I am paid hourly and the average cost is roughly $50 per week?

payment of work related expenses

As far as I know, there is no state law prohibiting employers from requiring employees to pay for this type of work related expense.  I suppose you could make an analogy to the issue of work uniforms and argue that if the expense reduces your pay below minimum wage then the employer is violating the law.  But I do not know.  Have you asked the employer to reimburse you?
