I really hope somebody can help me. I took a job 3 years ago with a base salary of $37,500 (I have an employment contract stating my base salary is that amount). Because the business is a mom & pop type of place, my boss told me before my first paycheck that his accountant did the paperwork and with tax deductions my bi weekly pay came to $1100.79. After doing some quick math, that made sense to me. My paychecks are for just that amount, with no paystub indicating just how much is deducted in taxes.
I just took a look at my W2 for the first time and it says I make $34,500. The last 2 years I had somebody do my taxes for me and I just assumed everything was normal. Basically, my boss has been paying me $3,000 less than what I am owed for the last 3 years. Can I file a complaint??? Please help!

Unpaid salary

Talk to your boss and find out if he/she agrees there was an inadvertent underpayment.  If he/she disagrees with your position, the amount of money involved justifies talking to a MA employment law attorney.  Depending on your situation, you may also be entitled to collect attorney's fees from your employer if you are required to bring a law suit to collect your unpaid wages or salary.  Good luck.
