My wife worked for the state for 24 years. After a battle she finaly got ordinary disability retirement from the state instead of advanced disability retirement which she should have recieved. before she recieved this disabilty she was getting her pension checks for about 400 dollars a month. Now that shes on disabilty she get about 900 and the pension checks are included now i guess? So she gets about 500 dollars for disabily from the state for 24 years of service and Because she did not get advanced disabilty retirement they say theres no benifits for children. This just does not make sense to me, any ideas?

Very sorry about your situation. However, there are several issues raised by your question that beyond my basic understanding of disability law. I encourage you and your wife to talk to a Massachusetts disability lawyer about your case. Most disability attorneys in MA offer an initial free consultation. Good luck.
