is my lease legal if my sublessor's rental agreement with the landlord does not specify that she can sublease the apartment?

Hi,

If anyone could help I would really appreciate it.
Here is the situation:
I moved into an apartment on Sept 1st, 2009 with three other roommates, a cat and a dog. Two of the roommates are in a relationship and the woman essentially controls interactions with the landlord. Since September the other roommate who was not in the relationship moved out. The couple have since been having her pay rent and have made very little effort to find someone to take over her sublease. Well, the thing is I want to move out too and I think that my sublessor wrote me a contract under an illegal premise because her lease does not specify that she can or cannot lease out the apartment to tenants.
She won't let me see her lease because she says it has nothing to do with me but do I have a right to see the master lease? The girl who moved out saw it and said there is no clause about subleasing. The girl in control says her landlord knows that she rents out to other roommates but doesn't care enough or want the burden to interact with us. She will not give me the landlords name or contact information and it is not on my lease anywhere.

Can you tell me if the agreement is binding because her lease doesn't say I can be here, if I can move out and what kind of notice and responsibility I have (the girl in control keeps threatening the other girl that she will take her to court and win). And can you tell me if I have any grounds to move out because the situation I signed the lease under is very different from the situation I am living in. I signed the lease because I thought it would be a roommate situation but it in fact is not. It is like the primary tenants (the girl in control and her boyfriend) act like my parents, have rules, are dismissive, aggressive and not kind. The apartment is always a mess and the girl in control refuses to se the thermostat above 60 degrees in the winter.
