My Ex may not show up for Contempt Hearing

I filed a Complaint for contempt against my ex because he is not paying child support. I have a feeling, based on what he says, that he is going to blow off the hearing. what will happen to him if he does not show up?

Editor's Response

If he fails to show up for a hearing at a Massachusetts family court, the judge may issue a civil arrest warrant known as a "capias." This warrant authorizes a deputy sheriff or a constable to arrest your ex and bring him to the court for a rescheduled hearing on your contempt complaint.
