Must landlord provide functioning mailboxes?

The mailboxes for my apartment building (20+ units) have degraded to the point that the post office will not deliver mail to my address. Does a landlord have a legal responsibility to maintain adequate post boxes? Do I have any legal recourse? Thanks!

Mailboxes

I don't think this issue is covered by the Massachusetts regulations regarding housing and sanitation.  However, there are United States Postal regulations that require your landlord (any landlord that owns a building with three or more units) to provide and maintain secure mail boxes for each unit.  Call your local inspectional services department to file a complaint and to see if they are willing to contact the landlord about this issue.  Good luck.
