I live in a single family unit and a pipe busted. Upon further investigation by the plumbing company it was found that half of the house was covered in black spore mold. I have a 7 month old baby and it was in the best interest to get out fast. They have been "repairing" the unit for 7 weeks now and i have been in a motel the entire time. Does my landlord have to pay for any of the costs of me having to live in a hotel including fast food, hotel fees, etc...
Who pays for temporary housing
You can read this post for information about who must pay for temporary housing when an apartment unit becomes uninhabitable. However, the general rule is that, although you are not obligated to continue paying rent, the landlord is not liable for your housing costs unless he was somehow negligent in creating the issue.
