My leave started 4 weeks before my due date(Jan. 11th) because a medical complications, and I end up being 5 days over due(Feb 10th).
I sent them a letter from my Doctor's stating I would be ok to go back 8 weeks after my delivery date, but when I called to confirm if they received my fax, I found out I was already fired since last Sat.(Mar. 20th).
They wanted me to go back to work on Mar. 10th(only 4 weeks after my c-section)they say I had 8 weeks from when I left, not from my delivery date.
Could anyone help me clarifing this matter...Thank you.

There are a lot of complicated issues at play here and unanswered questions that may impact your rights. (For example, did you have any other accrued leave available to you, such as sick leave or vacation time, and how long had you been employed?) You also need to consider the interplay of the Federal Maternity Leave Act with the Massachusetts Maternity Leave Act. For that, check out this excellent post by Simmons College.
You should also consider contacting the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination for more information on your rights under the MA Leave act. You can visit the Commission Website (http://www.mass.gov/mcad) or call them at (617) 994-6000.
