I am facing OUI charges in MA. My friend said I should try to do the "24D Program" but he did not really know what it was. What is it, and can I use it?

Your friend was referring to the Massachusetts First Offender Driver Alcohol Education Program. 24D Program is, essentially, an alternative sentencing option that allows enrolled participants to immediately apply for a hardship license. Only first time offenders can apply. It is a sixteen week educational program that will cost you (I believe) $600 and require you to attend group meetings, self-help groups, and victim impact presentations. 24D Program
The 24D Program is available to first offenders. It consists of assignment to a 16 week (1x per week) alcohol program and probation. In exchange for this your license is only revoked for 45 days and you have the ability to apply for a hardship icense.
