I have a pending personal injury case related to a car accident and I'm waiting for the thing to settle. My lawyer guesses a couple more months. But now I need some cash and I'm wondering if you can recommend a settlement funding company for a loan while I wait. I've been told there are lending companies that do this kind of thing. Thanks.

Loan while waiting for personal injury money
Sorry, but the general consensus among Massachusetts personal injury attorneys is that the majority of settlement funding companies offer unreasonable terms. I'm not sure why that would be, perhaps because a lot of litigants in personal injury cases are cash-poor because of expenses caused by the accident and, thus, vulnerable to aggressive lending. Bottom line: I don't feel comfortable recommending that course of action. Tough time to get other types of loans, such as home equity loans, but if you have other options, I would look into them. If you must get such a loan, compare the terms carefully and do the math: make sure you can make the payments even if your case or settlement takes longer than anticipated. Good luck.
