A tenant started a grease fire in one of the apartment units I own. The apartment is not inhabitable until repaired. The first floor unit (below) is not inhabitable until repaired because the electricity is off right now. I am wondering if we have any obligation to the tenant that started the fire (provide housing?), to the tenant on the first floor (I assume we have to provide housing to them, and would anyway), and is there anything else we are legally responsible for in the short term?
