I am not sick, but I was wondering about those ads I'm always seeing on TV for lawyers who are looking for a certain type of case, like people who believe they have suffered injury because of asbestos exposure. Do you think those lawyers would be better to contact because they have experience with that type of case and that area of Massachusetts law?

Editor's Response
Maybe, if the advertising attorney actually has experience with that type of case, he/she may be well prepared to pursue your case (hypothetically). But just because he advertises for clients does not necessarily mean he has that experience. Also, he may not, for example, have offices in your part of Massachusetts, and that may be an important consideration for you. Or, you may meet with him and feel as though you are simply one of a hundred asbestos cases. If I am ever injured by the negligence of another, regardless of the type of injury or illness, I would go through the process (outlined in one of our Quick Information Library articles) of talking to several attorneys and finding one with the experience and communication skills that I need.
