My sister had a pretty bad injury to head and neck after the boat she was riding in a as a guest collided with another boat driven by a stranger. With this type of injury are the laws any different or do we do anything different other than talking to a personal injury lawyer? Thank you.

From your sister's perspective, there will not be much of a difference between this type of injury case and one that arises on land, but she may want to find an attorney who has some experience with personal injuries suffered on the water (boats, jet-skis, etc.). You did not say where the injury occurred, but if the accident happened on the ocean or even in certain navigable waters, federal maritime law may apply. So, again, you want an attorney who is familiar with these issues. Good luck.
