I purchased a piece of machinery for my shop.I paid $25,000.00 for it.It is now 1 1/2 years old and it won't work right it keeps shutting off. The repair man says it's this and tries to repair it but nothing. We have even tried the electric company to have them put a voltage meter on the space I rent to see if there are any power surges that might be affecting it. Is this piece of machinery covered under an implied warranty?

First, with that much money involved, you should run this by an attorney who does consumer and contract law (I do not). The questions I would ask are: (1) was there an express warranty in writing or orally (e.g., this machine will be free of defects for X years)?; (2) did the machine work originally? (3) if not, what did the manufacture say or do? (4) if it did, when did it stop working, and was it within the express warranty period?
I am asking these questions rhetorically, and am not qualified to help you any further. But you get the idea: the facts and circumstances (and the answers to these questions and others) will determine what recourse, if any, you have. Good luck, and please tell your friends about The Forum.
