Homeowner's insurance cover dog bite claim in MA?

I just got a German Sheppard mix for my kids. My wife is concerned about our liability if the dog bites someone when she gets older. I feel like we'll be covered by our homeowners insurance. Is that so? Thanks you in advance for your help.

That depends on your policy.  A homeowner's insurance policy is a contract with specific provisions that establish your coverage.  Most insurance policies have exclusions that specifically state occurrences that the policy does not cover.  Some homeowner's polices have exclusions for injuries caused by any dog or by a specific breed of dog.  Accordingly, you need to read your policy and determine if there are any applicable exclusions.  If you are not sure, call your insurance agent and ask.  As you know from reading various threads on this site.  Dog owners can face serious consequences if their dog bites another person.  Good luck.
