I've been seeing this guy for several months now and he seems OK and actually has a job. Sometimes he sells cocaine to friends and friends of friends in small amounts. Once or twice he asked me to drive him to the sale because he recently lost his license because of an OUI. Can I get in trouble by driving him to a drug sale? Thanks.

OMG. Allow me to slip into the shoes of your parent for just a minute. Are you kidding me? By being in the car with him and his controlled substance, you put yourself at risk for possession offenses. By assisting him in the sale of drugs, you open up the possibility of conspiracy or joint venture charges. You should not help this guy sell his drugs and, in my humble opinion, a "good guy" would not sell drugs and would certainly not involve his girlfriend in his illegal activities.
Dealing Drugs
If you are convicted of drug related charges as a result of this joint venture, your license will be suspended as well. For example, a conviction of Possession of a Class B Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute (e.g. cocaine) will result in a 3 year license suspension. See http://www.suspendedlicensehelp.com/mass-dui-suspensions-drug-related.asp Also, if your vehicle is being used to deliver drugs, you could lose it in a forfeiture proceeding.
drug dealing
You can get in serious trouble for helping your boyfriend deliver drugs. If caught, and its probably only a matter of time, the police can charge you with the same offenses as your boyfriend for being a joint venturer and you would be subject to the same pernalties as him. If he is possessing over 14 grams then the police can charge you both with trafficking, which depending on the amount carries minimum mandatory state prison time. It's not worth it!! Damian N. Riddle
