I was appointed Executor of an estate in August 2011. I have currently been asked by my attorney to prepare info for the First Accounting. Under the new UPC, is this necessary? I have incurred excessive attorney fees due to 2 ancillary probates and I am hoping to streamline the remainder of the settlement of the estate. I was hoping the filing could be skipped and assents filed by the beneficiaries in place of an Accounting. Because the estate was opened prior to the new UPC going into effect, I'm curious what the options are to take advantage of the new UPC. Thank you so much for your time and assistance.
