Fickle landlord

I live in an apartment complex that is a disaster. During the hurricane we had no lights not even the safety fire lights. We recently had a fire in the basement and then no sprinker system for 2 weeks. I gave my notice in July that I would be moving out when they found someone to replace me. They have twice told me they approved someone and I signed a move out agreement. Today she called me and asked to show my apartment. Without even telling me the person who is supposed to be moving in backed out. She orginLly told me as soon as they had someone I was no longer responsible for the rent. Now she is telling me I am responsible until the day the new tenants move in. The will not get the apartment ready for new tenants until I'm out but then I have to pay for the two weeks it takes them to paint and get their stuff together. My lease isn't up til 11/30 so I'm not sure what to do. I'm moving to my new place Saturday because she told me the place was rented. Am I still liable when they have found people to replace me but they backed out?
