I went to court for a pretrial divorce hearing on Monday at the Middlesex Probate and Family Court. My estranged husband showed up this time (he missed the case management conference). The judge ordered it to trial immediately and at the end of testimony said that he would take the case under advisement. How long should I expect to wait for a decision?
Also, I filed for a fault divorce on the grounds of cruel and abusive treatment (my estranged husband has admitted to sexually assaulting me in front of our young child and is currently incarcerated as a result of the assault). Does the fact that the judge heard the rest of the testimony after I laid out the reason that I filed under these grounds mean that he will grant the divorce under them? Or can he still change the grounds to no fault?
