I found a car for sale online at a certain price. I call up the dealership to purchase the car which they mention they will not sell it for the advertised price. My questions is may there be a way to compel the dealership through legal action to sell the vehicle for the price they put on it online? If they end up selling it while trying to, or before, proceedings for legal action get rolling is there a way to have a similar vehicle substituted at the same advertised price?
Not sure if this helps any, but a quick google search of the dealership pulls up something like 600k+ hits for consumer complaints. Of course there is no way they have that many as web crawlers simply compile a bunch of redundant info, but it does show a pattern set forth by the dealerships actions(past and present).

If the dealer is intentionally posting false pricing, that is illegal and a violation of the Massachusetts Consumer Protection Act, aka Chapter 93A. Follow this link to a thread about false advertising and mistakes.
If you want to pursue this matter you might start by contacting the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs at 617-973-8787. Depending on the amount of money involved, you might also decide to contact a Massachusetts consumer protection attorney.
